Inspection Lanes

Computerized Vehicle Inspection

Computerized Inspection Takes Just a Few Minutes

The operator drives onto the test plates, stops and drives ahead to the next inspection module. Results for each module are instantly displayed and saved. At the end of testing, a printout shows the combined results for the vehicle.

The entire computerized test sequence is operated through the same powerful computer system used in Hunter's latest generation of wheel alignment systems. Windows® 98-based software provides a range of exclusive features and allows multi-tasking with other software programs.

1. B400 Brake Test
Front-to-rear and left-to-right brake force is calculated*. Here, the display shows the right front wheel would lock up in a panic stop, indicated by the length of the bars inside the wheels and the arrow at the front axle, color-coded red for "fail."

2. SA400 Suspension Analyzer
Each corner of the suspension is tested for adhesion*, indicating if the tires are in proper contact with the road and damping, the ability to isolate road irregularities. Here, green color-coding indicates satisfactory suspension performance.

* Patented Feature

3. SS100 Sideslip Test
Sideslip is an indication of incorrect wheel alignment and a major cause of tire wear. Test results for each axle are displayed, color-coded for "pass," "marginal," or "fail." On this vehicle, front axle sideslip has passed; the rear axle fails.

4. Lift-Rack with Wear Detector Plates
Wear Detector Plates on the Hunter lift allow one technician to control the air-operated plates from under the vehicle. The plates move to simulate road forces while the technician observes the effect on system components. There's no need for a second technician to be involved.

5. Point & Click Inspection
Hunter's WinAlign® software combines an inspection list with inspection photos and illustrations, helping the technician to perform the pre-alignment inspection more efficiently. Inspection status can be set for each part. Live action inspection videos and 3-dimensional inspection illustrations for major assemblies can be accessed.
